The 2nd annual Big Pull Tug-Of-War competition
will feature an action-packed day of fun and brute strength at
Mooney's Bay Beach in Ottawa on Saturday, September 27th, 2008.
The Ottawa Police Association and The Ottawa Mission have joined forces to
organize a family-oriented community fundraising event that brings together
tug-of-war teams from The Ottawa Police, the Canadian Military, RCMP as well as
local companies and high schools, and has the crowd on its feet for every
match.
The Big Pull 2008 will coincide with the National Police/Peace officers'
memorial weekend held on Parliament Hill. All of those involved have one goal
-to "pull together" to support The Ottawa Mission and its Stepping Stones
Learning Centre.
This year, The Big Pull is privileged to have two Honorary Co-Chairs of The Big
Pull:
Chief of Ottawa Police, Vernon White
President of The Ottawa Police Association,
Steve Boucher
All registration fees and pledges gathered by the teams are donated to the
Stepping Stones Learning Centre
at The Ottawa Mission.
