The Ottawa Mission
The Ottawa Mission is a leading organization in our community that offers hope
and help to the homeless. The Ottawa Mission is a non-profit, faithbased
ministry that provides successful and innovative solutions to the problems of
homelessness.
Since its inception in 1906, The Ottawa Mission has responded to those in need
with food, clothing and shelter. Over 1,100 meals a day are served to Ottawa’s
hungry and each night more than 220 people find safe shelter and a warm bed.
In the last fifteen years, The Ottawa Mission has expanded its services
dramatically to include award-winning programs that deal with life-skills,
education, job training, employment and housing. Some of the internationally
recognized programs include the Home Hospice, Medical Clinic and Dental Clinic.
The primary goal of The Ottawa Mission is to meet immediate physical needs and
to be a place of transition where men and women in a vulnerable state can reach
their potential and find renewed independence and self-respect.
